Ogechi Obiorah is a distinguished legal professional and PhD scholar at the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, where her research focuses on governance, regulatory frameworks, and the intersection of law with emerging technologies. She holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from the University of Strathclyde and a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from Nnamdi Azikiwe University. With over 15 years of experience, Ogechi has built a robust career in corporate governance, public policy, and stakeholder management, working with prominent institutions such as the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), Lagos Business School, Barclays Bank, UK and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Ogechi’s expertise extends to strategic planning and management, legal advisory, partnerships, and navigating complex regulatory frameworks to align legal compliance with economic and social objectives. Additionally, she has developed a niche in IT law, AI governance, and intellectual property, providing advisory services on e-commerce, cybersecurity, and the ethical implications of emerging technologies. Her research interests complement her practical experience, focusing on governance models, ethical business practices, and the role of law in sustainable economic development.

Ogechi currently serves as the Head of Corporate Affairs & Stakeholder Management at the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), where she oversees regulatory compliance, partnerships and stakeholder management and policy advocacy. She is also a Legal Consultant at Chancellor Chambers, specializing in corporate law, contract negotiations, and intellectual property. Previously, she held roles at Lagos Business School and UNIDO, where she focused on research, legal advisory, and capacity-building initiatives.

Ogechi is an associate member of the Nigerian Institute of Chartered Arbitrators and holds certifications from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Lagos Business School and the Policy Innovation Centre among others. Her commitment to advancing research, policy reforms, and ethical governance underscores her dedication to shaping corporate strategies that balance legal compliance with economic growth and social impact.
